Elements Library
The Library is where you store reusable characters, locations, and props that you can drop into any campaign or shot prompt. It saves you from re-describing the same character across different ads, and gives the AI a stable visual reference to keep assets on-model.
You'll find it under Library in the top navigation.
Element Types
Each element belongs to one of three types:
- Character (orange) — A person who recurs across your ads.
- Location (teal) — A setting you want to reuse.
- Prop (fuchsia) — A specific object — a product variant, a piece of equipment, a brand item.
The sidebar shows counts per type and lets you filter the grid. The search box at the top filters by name.
Creating an Element
- Click New element in the top right of the Library page.
- Choose the type (Character, Location, or Prop).
- Fill in:
- Name — How you'll refer to it (e.g., "Maya", "Brooklyn Loft", "FlexBand").
- Description — A short paragraph the AI can read.
- Reference images — Up to 6. Use the in-app crop tool to drag, zoom, and frame each one before saving.
- Click Save.
Once saved, the element shows up in the grid with its first reference image as the thumbnail and a colored dot indicating its type.
Character Performance Samples
Characters can also have an optional performance sample video — a short clip used as a voice and facial-expression reference for AI generation.
Two ways to add one:
- Upload an existing video file (MP4, WebM, or QuickTime).
- Record live in the browser using your webcam. The recorder reads back a fixed script ("I am…") and auto-stops at 8 seconds.
Performance videos must be between 3 and 8 seconds. If your file is shorter or longer, the upload is rejected and you'll be asked to choose a different clip.
You can replace or delete a performance sample any time from the element's edit modal.
Reusing Characters Across a Whole Campaign
A character element isn't only for one-off @mentions in a shot. You can also pin a Library character as recurring cast on a campaign so that the same person stars in every logline and screenplay the campaign generates.
In Campaign Studio's Brand Assets step, expand Advanced: pin recurring characters and select the characters you want to lock in. From then on, the AI is required to include each pinned character by exact name as a main character in all loglines and scripts, and Film Production reuses their saved looks automatically. See Campaign Studio → Pinning Recurring Cast for the full flow.
Using @mentions in Prompts
The Library is most powerful inside Film Production's shot prompts:
- Type
@in any prompt textarea to open the autocomplete picker. - Search by name and select a Library element.
- CookFlix replaces
@Mayawith the linked element's reference images and description automatically when generating the shot.
You can also reference brand assets uploaded in Campaign Studio with @Brand… tags — for example @BrandLogo or a custom name you set on a product image.
This means you can write prompts like:
"@Maya walks into the @BrooklynLoft holding @FlexBand, evening light through tall windows."
and the AI will pull the right references for each tag without you uploading them again.
Editing or Deleting Elements
- Edit — Click any element card to open it in edit mode. You can rename, change the description, swap or crop reference images, and update the performance video.
- Delete — Hover over a card and click Delete. You'll be asked to confirm. Existing shots that referenced the element keep their generated assets, but new generations won't be able to use the deleted element.
