Getting Started

This guide walks you through creating your CookFlix account and understanding the main areas of the application.

Creating Your Account

  1. Open CookFlix in your browser and click Login in the top navigation, or click any Create a Campaign call-to-action on the landing page.
  2. On the login screen, click the Create an account link at the bottom.
  3. Fill in your name, email address, and a password (minimum 6 characters).
  4. Click Create account. You'll be signed in automatically and taken to your dashboard.

If you forget your password, use the Forgot password? link on the login page to receive a reset email.

Navigating the App

Once you're signed in, the top navigation bar gives you access to all the main areas of CookFlix:

  • Home — The public landing page.
  • Pricing — How credit-based pricing works.
  • Dashboard — Your home base after signing in. Shows recent campaigns and projects, plus alerts for credit purchases.
  • Film Production — The production area where you turn screenplays into actual videos.
  • Campaign Studio — Where you ideate concepts and generate screenplays.
  • Library — Your reusable Elements Library (characters, locations, props you can drop into stories).
  • Learn — These guides.

The right side of the navigation bar shows two pill-shaped buttons:

  • Wallet: N cr — Your available credit balance. Click it to open the wallet statement and to buy more credits.
  • Your name — Click to open your User Account page (purchase history, wallet summary).

A Logout link signs you out.

Two Main Workflows

CookFlix has two connected workflows:

Campaign Studio is where you start. You describe your business and campaign goals, and the AI generates ad concepts and screenplays for you. This is a guided, step-by-step process — no creative or filmmaking expertise needed.

Film Production picks up where Campaign Studio leaves off. It takes the screenplay and helps you generate the actual visual assets — character images, location images, and video clips — then lets you arrange everything in a timeline editor and export a finished video.

Most users start in Campaign Studio, generate a screenplay, then click through to Film Production. You can also use Film Production directly if you already have a storyboard JSON file from another source.

How Credits Work

CookFlix uses consumption-based credits. You spend credits each time the system generates an image, video, or audio clip — there are no fixed seats or monthly minimums. New accounts start with a small grant of free credits so you can test the workflow.

When you start a generation, credits are temporarily held while the model runs. On success they're captured (added to "Spent"), on failure they're released back to your balance.

You can top up at any time from the Wallet: N cr pill in the navigation. Each pack adds 2,000 credits via Stripe checkout. See Account & Credits for details.

Your First Campaign in 5 Minutes

Here's the quickest path from zero to a screenplay:

  1. From the Dashboard or Campaign Studio, click New Campaign.
  2. A chat opens with Knit, your campaign assistant. Describe your business the way you'd tell a friend — what you sell and who it's for. You can also paste a full description in one go.
  3. Answer Knit's follow-up questions (target audience, what makes you different, your goal). Knit asks one question at a time and writes the business brief for you.
  4. Watch the Captured so far strip fill in with your campaign title, objective, and brief as you chat.
  5. When Knit presents a summary, click Create Campaign & Start and follow the five steps: Brief → Brand Assets → Genres → Loglines → Screenplays.

Each step is covered in detail in the Campaign Studio guide.
